Development of a Program Converting ECAD Files into Simulation Models to Expand VPD Use by Control Developers

At LG Electronics, engineers drew production circuits in Zuken and then rebuilt them in Twin Builder to check components and parameters. This industry-academia project set out to convert Zuken ECAD circuits into Twin Builder simulation models automatically, cutting the errors and time that depended on each engineer's skill. Three professor-led teams from Pusan National University and Kyungpook National University split the work: extracting component and wiring data from ECAD files into a database file, placing and wiring the parts in Twin Builder automatically, and offering everything through a web GUI so engineers could upload a circuit and download the converted model without installing tools or training. Joonho Seo built the web server for Prof. Yoon-Ho Choi's team, covering the upload/download GUI, per-user separation, and handling of concurrent user requests. The research period ended in November 2024, and the final report was delivered in December 2024.
